The Cayman Islands Scouts Association (CISA) Drill Team is an elite contingent of Scouts, made up of scouts who have an interest in drill and would like to become more proficient in developing marching and teamwork skills. Training in this unit helps to efficiently improve one’s discipline, their ability to listen to commands, and allows scouts to execute tasks better during parades and events. The Cayman Islands Drill Team has been around from the mid 1990’s and has a wealth of many years of experienced individuals managing this branch of the organization.
TRAINING
The Drill Team train Scouts to participate in official events, ceremonial events and parades. The members are called upon to do special activities and official events, and partake in various programs. Some of the ceremonial events these scouts have participated in include; the National Heroes Day, the late Queens’ Platinum Jubilee Birthday Parade, Remembrance Day Parade and the Proclamation Ceremony for His Majesty King Charles III. The Drill Team also takes part in non-official events, some of these include; the opening ceremony of the Lions Club Multiple District Convention, Commonwealth Day Service and Parade among others.
UNIFORM
The Drill Teams’ uniforms differ greatly from the regular Scout attire. Along with black boots and black boots, members wear a black and white scarf, and a black beret with a gold pin that represents the Scout Association. A long-sleeved white shirt is worn instead of a short sleeved one, and a Cayman Islands Scout Association badge is worn above the right breast pocket, while the World Scout Emblem, the World Crest is worn on the left breast pocket.
Drill Team training sessions are held on every Wednesday of the month at 34 Middle Road.
